
Adult Upgrading at the Centre
LCG ensures that quality literacy services are available and provided throughout the Town of Georgina through our Literacy Basic Skills (LBS) and Ontario Basic Skills IV (OBS IV) Programs.
You can:
• Gain the skills required to earn your grade 12 equivalency – GED
• Prepare for College
• Pass the mature student exam
• Earn non-college credit course in English, Math, Biology, Chemistry (in partnership with Seneca College)
• Upgrade for apprenticeship training
• Improve employment opportunities
• Improve essential workplace skills
These Programs include:
• Intake interview and entrance assessment which will let us know if this program is right for you
• Goal-oriented learning plans
• Individually tailored assignments
• Learning materials, including special literacy computer software, as well as Seneca College approved resources
• One-to-one tutoring
• Learning in small groups
• Literacy related computer skills
• Registration as a Seneca College student for those doing academic upgrading, which provides access to the library and other resources

LCG is open 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, 9-9 Tuesdays and Thursdays and 9-1 on Fridays. Learners participating in our programs can attend 2 - 40 hours per week, dependent upon their needs and time availability.
Computer Training On-Line
The Learning Centre is now offering On-Line Computer Training. Train from the comfort of your own home or office. If you don't have access to the internet you can train at our offices for an additional fee. There is a huge variety of courses available, offered at rates that you must see to believe! Grade Boosters
For children/youth in Grades 3-12, an opportunity to enhance academic skills (reading, writing, spelling and math) using our computer lab. Flexible session times, scheduled on an individual basis once per week, or more frequently if requested. $129.00 for 10 one-hour sessions.

An Instructional Assistant is available at all times in the lab to assist students individually as needed.
