My Success Story by Lorraine

When I first started up-grading myself, back on April 6, 2000, I was out of school for 17 years, I thought it would be really hard, but it wasn't. All of you were tremendous in giving me the self-confidence that I needed to help me move on with my life.

When I first started coming to the Learning Centre here in Keswick, I had just gotten separated from my husband and was lost. I didn't know at the time what I was capable of or how far I could or wanted to go with school or life in general. The people here at the Learning Centre helped me with my math either by one to one help or by computer based programs (Mavis Beacon, Success Maker and Destinations). Now I'm at the point where I am able to decide where and what I want to do and go with my life. I have been accepted to the Toronto School of Business and have decided to enroll in Business Management, I passed the entry test with 85%. I was very pleased with myself and I am looking forward to starting school in September.

I am still going to come here to The Learning Centre this summer and in the fall so that the staff can help me stay on top of everything. My son Michael will also be attending The Learning Centre this summer so that he will be ready for school in September. My son is 10 years old.

Thank-you for everything that you have helped me achieve. I will always look forward to seeing all of you. You make learning an enjoyable experience!
