My Success Story by Kim Forbes

I, Kim Forbes, have been coming to the Learning Centre for approximately 3 months. I have been upgrading on my math and some English for the college I will be attending. I believe it has helped me immensely.

The requirements to get into the college were to pass an assessment test, which was based on my math and writing skills. If my mark wasn't high enough I may not have gotten in or had to do up to 4 semesters. Luckily, with the help of the Learning Centre, I received a high score and only have to do 1 semester of the course.

I only have my grade 9 math from the high school which was 10 years ago, so when I walked in the door to the Learning Centre I had started off at a grade 4 level and worked myself up to a grade 10 level. I'm satisfied!.

I never enjoyed math in high school, in fact never enjoyed really any classes except the ones I was allowed to pick. Coming here and doing the math that is assigned to me is enjoyable and makes me want to keep on learning. I guess I have grown up.

The Learning Centre has been great in getting the upgrading I required, as well as the staff. If given the opportunity to come back while I am in college I will definitely do so.
